Assembling the Unicorn Lovey Crochet Pattern

Head

The pieces required are the head, two ears, the muzzle, the horn, crochet eyes (optional – you may have placed safety eyes while working the head instead) and your two pieces of mane.

Muzzle

Position the muzzle at round 13 and the bottom with the top on round 16.

Use sewing pins to hold it in place and sew the muzzle to the head, stuffing it as you go. Use the remaining tail to stitch the muzzle vertically at the centre and pull tight to create the muzzle shape.

Eyes (Crocheted)

Pin outer eyes between rounds 10 and 12 in an inverted V shape with approximately 6 single crochet stitches between the two eyes. Sew the eyes to the head and thread the tails through the head to the bottom. Indent the eyes by tying the tails together and tightening until you are happy with the position of the eyes.

Fasten off and thread ends through the head and cut.

Horn

Stuff the horn and attach it centred and above the eyes.

Short Mane

Attach the short mane horizontally behind the horn.

Ears

Fold the base of each ear in half and stitch the edges together. Flatten the seam with your finger to form a triangle at the base of each ear. Pin the ears behind the short mane and sew securely to the head.

Long Mane

Attach the long mane pieces in two horizontal lines behind the ears.

Arms

Sew the two arms to the base of the head securely and fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Attaching the head and arms to your blanket

Using a knitter's needle, sew the head/arms securely to the centre of the blanket. Fasten off and weave in all of the loose ends to finish your lovey.
